Shanna Derby Skeen Marketing Director

Shanna Derby Skeen is an accomplished marketing professional with a diverse background in event management, branding, and corporate marketing. She graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality, specializing in Event Management. Shanna began her career with the City of Jacksonville, where she played a crucial role in the production of city-wide events.

Her career in the event industry took off when she became an Executive Meeting Sales Manager at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront. During her time there, Shanna gained extensive experience in the corporate sector and worked with a wide range of clients, from private to nonprofit organizations, small businesses to large corporations, and even weddings. Seeking to expand her skillset, she trained under a high-end floral and design company in Jacksonville and later opened her own event planning and brand consulting company, Shanna Nicole Design, in 2012. Notably, she designed the internationally recognized trademark logo for the Tim Tebow Foundation - Faith, Hope, and Love™.

After relocating to Thomasville, Georgia, Shanna continued to pursue her entrepreneurial endeavors while also working with Thomas University. She coordinated events and managed branding for the university's alumni relations and president, including creating the Thomas University Alumni Association's trademark logo. In 2014, she joined New Hire Solutions as the Marketing Director, overseeing marketing and branding efforts for multiple businesses, such as Stony Creek Landscaping & Irrigation and Thomasville Nursery. As the company expanded, Shanna played a vital role in its growth, leading the marketing efforts for two additional companies, Liberty Towing & Recovery and Royce's Towing & Recovery.

In 2016, Shanna embraced an opportunity to work with Charter Senior Living, a prominent corporation in the senior living industry. Here, she excelled as the Director of Sales and Marketing for Southern Pines Senior Living in Thomasville, Georgia, for two successful years. Her contributions included becoming a Certified Dementia Practitioner® (CDP®) and executing a comprehensive rebranding of the Thomasville community's logo and branding collateral.

Driven by her passion for community involvement, Shanna has served on various boards and organizations, including the Rotary Club of Thomasville, South Georgia Ballet, and the School of Business' Business Management program at Southern Regional Technical College. She actively participated as the Head Volunteer Coordinator for the Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival and served as an Ambassador for the Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, Shanna is a member of the Kappa Alpha Chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority and has been recognized for her exceptional leadership and dedication, receiving prestigious awards such as "Ambassador of the Year" and the "Bob 'Hutch' Hutchison Service" Award. Shanna has served and will serve again as a board member and Public Image Director for the Rotary Club of Thomasville, was named “Rookie of the Year” and recognized as a “Paul Harris Fellow+1 Recipient”, while also receiving recognition for the official design of Rotary District 6900’s Rotary Has Heart for Seniors logo. In March of 2017, Rotary International honored Shanna with the very prestigious "Avenues of Service" Award - an internationally recognized award honoring a Rotarian who participates in service activities in each of the five Avenues of Service: Club, Vocational, Community, International, and Youth.

Currently, Shanna holds the position of Marketing Director at New Hire Solutions, where she leads a team responsible for branding recognition, corporate messaging, photography/videography, design and copy, website management, SEO, social media, recruitment marketing, email and direct marketing, events, community/media relations, and internal tech support for the company's ATS/CRM systems. Her passion for enhancing the lives of the community aligns perfectly with the company's purpose and mission.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Shanna enjoys spending quality time with her husband and their two miniature dachshunds in their Thomasville home. They take pleasure in going on walks with their adorable fur babies, cherishing moments with their large family, and actively participating in community events.
